God=Father

God=Father

If we get this idea then I think we can truly understand who God truly is. From the start of life in the womb we are God's child, and he is our father. So at the start we can understand that God is a Father, so God will also love us from the start.

Alright we get a little bit older, now we have the choice to not love him, or to love him. Now if you walk away from your Father, and you might even hate him, He will always love you. So when you lose God you can ran back to your Father and he will gladly accept you.

The Parable of the lost Son, this story happens everyday with God our Father. We think that life is our life and we walk past the poor, we spend our money on the things that don't last. Now, we have lost everything and we need is God, we sit there wanting to go back to our Father but in the same time we don't know what is going to happen if we go back. It get's to a point that we ran back, we don't worry about what they think. In verse 20 we notice the Father run to the son as the son runs to him. Pause for affect... Do you picture this in this world? God our Father will run to us, pick up in his arms. He won't just do that, the father will also show Grace and give you a gift for coming home, what a beautiful story! The full story in below.

When you ever think of how God treats us, I hope you think of how a Father should treat us. The only difference between my father and God is this. My dad is not God<>

Luke 15:11-32

11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:12 and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of thy substance that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.13 And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together and took his journey into a far country; and there he wasted his substance with riotous living.14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that country; and he began to be in want.15 And he went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.17 But when he came to himself he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish here with hunger!18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight:19 I am no more worthy to be called your son: make me as one of thy hired servants.20 And he arose, and came to his father. But while he was yet afar off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight: I am no more worthy to be called thy son.22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth quickly the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:23 and bring the fatted calf, and kill it, and let us eat, and make merry:24 for this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing.26 And he called to him one of the servants, and inquired what these things might be.27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.28 But he was angry, and would not go in: and his father came out, and entreated him.29 But he answered and said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, and I never transgressed a commandment of thine; and30 but when this thy son came, who hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou killedst for him the fatted calf.31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that is mine is thine.32 But it was meet to make merry and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

The Man Behind The Action

Well I should of started this blog with talking about who I am and my life story. But since I didn't you can see it here.
My name is Jonathan Spencer Adams, I was born in Georgia (not going to give all info about that stuff). I was born in the year of 1996 and i am proud of it, I just like the number to be honest. I was saved when I was 8 or 9, I was baptize on Easter Sunday. I do not regret getting baptize at a young age because I was aware of what was going to change in my life. I lost God or forgot about how important he is to everyone, that happen when I was 11.I am thankful that I was raise in a Christian environment. The verse that made me really understand what my life should be about is Ephesians 5:14-17

14 This is why it is said:

“Wake up, sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”

15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.

I was a sleeper I knew what God was about but I forgot that my life was not that way at all. So by 12, I woke up and Christ has been shining his light on me since that day forward. In verse 15 it teaches me the way I should live. Be careful how you live not as unwise but as wise. I learn that I have to watch what I do and make sure that it affects my future in a positive way. I always want to do my best in everything I do and verse 16, helps me with opportunities that God gives me. In verse 17 when it said foolish I take that as do not control your life, and always know what God wants you to do to increase his kingdom.

I struggle everyday with sin and it is not easy to live this life. I find being a Follower of Jesus harder then a life that is corrupted by sin. Sin is easy to fall into and hard to get out. I do not want anybody to be corrupt by sin. I don't want people to think that I got this life all figured out because I don't.

My goal is not to go to heaven because heaven is the reward. My goal is to let the world understand that there is a God that loves them and wants them to run to him with open arms.

The Key to Holy Living

How many times do we find ourselves focusing on the earthy things like, money, food, people, music, looks, etc. I just named some things that I focus on when it comes with earthly things go. Those things keep me from living a holy and righteous life.

What would be things we can set our mind that are on things above? It's said in Colossians 3:12 that we should clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. and all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Everything we need to know as Christians is Love. If we know what Love is then our life's will be a reflection of Jesus Christ.

Something that has to be done on a daily basic, is Holy Living. The key to Holy Living is in verse Colossians 3:17 and is said whatever you do with word or deed, do it in the name of the Lord Jesus, and giving thanks to God. I find it hard a lot of the times to thank people much less my God. The verse means to thank God for everything and do everything through His name and be thankful for the outcome.

Colossians 3:2,12,17

2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

I Am Second Josh Hamilton- James 4:7

What a story about a baseball player that I look up to as a person, because of his story.
James 4:7 is a verse that he turned to in his hardships. What he did was, he resisted the devil and the devil ran away from him.

James 4:7
Be subject therefore unto God; but resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Friendship- Exodus 33:11,Proverbs 17:17, Proverbs 18:24,Proverbs 27:6,Proverbs 27:10

Exodus 33:11 “The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Num did not leave the tent.” God wants his people to talk face to face not of text or face book or phone calls but face to face.

Proverbs 17:17 “A friend loves at all times, and brother is born for adversity” I think why people are so broken is because they don’t give or receive love. People ask how do we fix this or fix that and the answer is simply love.

Proverbs 18:24 “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Have close friends then many companions.

Proverbs 27:6 “Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.” Your friends can give you advice that you do not want to hear but will help you. Or an enemy that tells you sweet happy things that led you to ruin.

Proverbs 27:10 “Do not forsake your friend and the friend of your father, and do not go to your brother’s house when disaster strikes you- better a neighbor nearby than a brother far away.” Help and be help by your friends not your family five miles away.

2 Chronicles 20:15, Matthew 11:28- Battles & Rest

The battles or temptation I get in it always seems like I lose the battles, and it seems as though I get spiritually tired and need rest. I truly think that we shouldn't be spiritually tired everyday, because we find rest in the Father.Matthew 11:28"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." To prevent this from happening it starts with scripture and your prayer, there both equally needed. Those things are very elementary to Christians but we find ourselves not doing these things which makes us spiritually tired. If your getting discouraged of your vast army(sin). Learn this and take hold of it, It's not you battle to fight, it's God's. You can tap out and start putting God in the ring and let him fight for you. The battle has already been won so why worry about your battles. God is your protector and he has the whole world in his hands. Now all you have to do is follow His will and commands for the rest of your days. Trusting in God is worry put into prayer that God takes care of.

2 Chronicles 20:15

He said: "Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's.

Matthew 11:28
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

1 Corinthians 10:13 - No Temptation

A lot of the times I find myself worry about a temptation that I will be faced with and how I am going to get through it. We often find ourselves in this position a lot as Followers of Jesus, but we don't often think how Jesus took on temptation. Jesus was never worried about what was going to tempted him, and when he did get tempted he backed it up with scripture. Why did he back it up with the Bible, well because it is the whole truth and it still is today. If we are going to defeat temptation it starts with the Bible.

Everyone of us will find ourselves in temptation. This is a problem that we have to solve, If you give in to it now, your going to rob yourself from a future blessing.Temptation seems like something that you can get away from and over the years it seems like you can not get over it. It doesn't matter who you are, you are still going to have temptations. Because this is a everyday thing you can't put your guard down.

The best thing about being a Follower of Jesus is that you have help not only from your friends but ultimately our God. Whatever the devil has to throw at you, you can always go to our God and let him take care of it because he will never lose. My problem is not really the temptation but it is the worrying and stresses of the temptation, so what i have been trying to learn is to give whatever is on my mind to my Father.

Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

God, Just like Paul said in Colossians, let us ask God to open a door for our message. Give us the words to speak what you would have us to say. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Hypocrites

Isa. 9:17: “… for everyone is a hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.” Well God thinks that everyone is a hypocrite. The only one not a hypocrite is Jesus. But people today thinks hypocrite as double-life person.

Like a person that goes to church then gets out doesn’t live the way they were taught. “They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.” 1 John 2:19. When you think of hypocrites you have to question if they were a Christian in the first place. Then we have to question if all of us are really Christians.

A Christian struggling with sin is NOT a hypocrite. All Christians struggle with sin. There is no one in the church who does not constantly battle his or her sin. I think a hypocrite is a person that goes to church and doesn’t see the whole truth though they think they do and after they go out and live without any thought of God.

Judas was a straight up hypocrite because he turned away from God and took his life because of it. Sin got in-between Judas and Jesus, so if clearly people can see that sin is in-between you and God. Then you need to look at yourself and sin what sin is in-between you and God.

Worrying

Who worries? Well about everyone and everything worries. The list would be endless about what we worry about. Why do we worry? We worry about things we fear may happen or fear about what won’t happen. Matthew 6: 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Worrying does nothing to make you a better person, why should we always think about what am I going to eat what am I going to wear, it is plain pointless. Later on in verse 27, it says, “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?” Worrying doesn’t give you anything but pain and something to fill your time.Worrying is not good for your health or well being. Worrying gives you fear and anxiety that can control your life. Proverbs 12:25 Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up. Fear and anxiety weighs you down, if your already weighed down then listen for encouraging words.

What worrying can do for you? Worrying can translate into prayer that translates into trust in God thus making your relationship grow. Philippians 4:6-7 Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. You can experience peace we exceeds anything we can understand, that is how powerful God’s thoughts are.
Worrying takes you focus off of God and puts it on yourself. God knows your needs so why do you worry about money, food, clothes, etc. It’s all in the hands of God. Let me put it this way less worrying means more trusting in God.
Matthew 6:25-34
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life ?28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

1Chorinthains 12:12-19-One Body, Many Parts

Parts of the body work together to help us to stay alive. We have to have our different parts to keep us alive if we were one part what is our body. Just like the church you need everyone to work together for it to work, you see this church, in the book of Acts. In acts it saids, "All the believers were one in heart and mind." In Acts they were together they were on the same page, on what they wanted to live out.

Like all Christians are baptized in the Spirit of God but we are all different people. We come together as one body in the Spirit of God. God placed the parts in our body. Just as God places us in his body. If we were one part of the body there would be no body because there would have to be another part of the body.

You as a follower of Jesus is a part of the body. I need you to be a part of the body because without everyone there is not a body.

1Chorinthains 12:12-19
12
Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.
13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. 15 Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.19 If they were all one part, where would the body be?

God let us be a people that are one in Spirit and in truth, let us treat our neighbors as a part of the body, open doors for us God to live out what you have taught us.

Ephesians 4:26-27-Anger

I love this verse because of how true it is for my life and how i can relate with people that struggle with anger. A little fact about anger it is that it is one letter away from danger, danger can lead down many wrong paths. For me anger is like a symptom of a larger problem with myself such as hurt, frustration, fear, or stress. When I deal with anger I ask myself why I am angry and what's causing it. Jesus wants to replace our anger with his Love. Anger is a lack of love. We see this a lot people that were really not loved by there parents or didn't feel the love have a anger issue. In your anger do not sin is hard and trust me its not impossible to over come, as a family of God we can overcome this trail together, no one said we have to do it alone. My advice is when your angry is to think about what your angry with and why is it happening. Then after going through that you know the roots of your anger and dig the roots up.
Don't ever sleep on your anger because the fire keeps growing. You have to get rid of the fire before danger comes into play. When you do sleep on it the devil has you and the fire combusted in you. Then he has you. Remember to let God fight your battle because he always comes through.

Ephesians 4:26-27

26
“In your anger do not sin” : Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,
27 and do not give the devil a foothold.

God, let us not go to bed tonight with something on our heart Lord, help us to let go of any anger that we have because of your son we are washed clean of sin. You are are light in the dark and dangerous world.

Listening And Doing - James 1:22-24

When we read God's word it seems so easy to do what it saids, but we often find ourselves not doing what it said at all. This part of God's word reminds me of what to take away from the bible when I read it. Don't just hear the word but listen. When we are hearing something it's just knowing that something is being said, listening is concentrating on what is being said and understanding what is means. So when you read the word or listen to your preacher don't just hear but listen and do it what they tell you. If we don't do what it saids it is like we were looking at ourselves in the mirror and then we walk away and do not know what we even look like. Sounds stupid but that is what God thinks when we do not listen to his word. In the scripture it said, " after looking at themselves, go away and immediately forget what they look like." You see that word immediately, that means right after church or after stepping away from the Bible we forget what we just heard and do nothing about it. So may we as a family of God take what we learn fully listen and do what the word saids.

James 1:22-24
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.23 Those who listen to the word but do not do what it says are like people who look at their faces in a mirror24 and, after looking at themselves, go away and immediately forget what they look like.

God, let our lives reflect your son Christ Jesus and not merely listen to the word. God, open doors so we can practice what you want us to do through your word. Your will be done.

Joshua 24:15

Joshua 24:15

15 But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”

We as followers of Jesus we have to decide whether to serve the Lord or to serve what the past generations have served.
It's easy to get into a rebellion about life in your own way. This is hard for me to give my all to Christ when we have those days we just want to serve ourselves. But then the time comes where you have to pick who or what will win you over or control you. If I practice what I preach God will be in control of my life and we need to ask God to lead our life's in the way that he wants. The choice is yours, Will you serve God, yourself, or another imperfect thing. Once we as followers of Jesus have chosen to be controlled by the Holy Spirit, we need to make that choice everyday.
