Peru Mission Journal (5th Day)

June 19,2012

So today we went to Hope house which is an girls orphanage. While we were playing volleyball one of the girls was on my friend Drew shoulders.

One of the girls wanted to get on my shoulders so I put her there. The first couple of minutes the girl was as lite as a feather as the time pasted she got heavier and heavier.

This little girl took my heart away, she is the most little person I have ever seen. All of these girls do not have earthly fathers in their lives. Me and this little girl connected very fast. I hope she saw me as a father that day.

Today we were able to sleep in a little longer. The beds in Peru are very hard so I did not get much sleep. As I go through the days here in Peru I realize how very blessed we are. Every night we go to church to worship God. The services last very long which is amazing. So tonight like always we get on the bus to go to church. We are sitting on the bus and the translator on the bus said our battery is dead. So us guys got out and pushed the bus to get it started. Praise God the bus started.

At the end of the service we had an alter call for those who want prayer. After I prayed for the people I decided to get on my hands and knees and pray to the God of the universe. Tonight God changed my life FOREVER!

Peru Mission Journal (3rd Day)

June 17,2012

Today started very fast. I got up got dressed for church and ate breakfast. We traveled to church which was about 45 minutes away, we arrived there an hour early. We were ministering to two different services, both services lasted about two hours each. Worship is difficult because of the language barrier. The worship here in Peru is a lot different then they way we worship in the states. In Peru they worship has a lot of dancing. After church we were getting on the bus they had to call us off because we had a flat tire.

So luckily there was a mall near by so we could go have lunch. At the mall you have to pay to use the restroom. As I was walking out of the bathroom I remembered I leaved my passport on the hanger in the bathroom stall. I had already pass the point to were you pay. I yelled in english I have to go get my passport. After yelling that I ran into the bathroom and grabbed my passport saying thank you to the person sitting on the seatless toilet.

We came back to Pat's Place which is the place we stayed all week. We went to another church which was packed with people. They were people standing outside the church it was so full. One of our team members spoke on the Holy Ghost. Then the end of the service when the alter call was given. Drew my friend and I prayed over a young man that wanted to be healed schizophrenia, I have never been part of a healing before or knew the power of the holy spirt could work through me like it did. We prayed that he was healed in Jesus name. As the service went on the whole church wanted prayer and that is just what we did. As we go along in prayer Drew and I came upon a father and a son. The Son of the Father is about two years old. The Father said that the son could not speak so as the need arises we prayed for him.

Peru Mission Journal (2nd Day)

I woke up taking a very cold shower, found out later that they did not have the hot water turned on.
Today the girls and boys at Pat's Place sang songs and danced for us. We sang a familiar song called "Take It All." We sang and danced to that song in Spanish with the girls.
We went to play on the roof of Pat's Place, and the roof is fenced in so that balls don't get out.

I spent my time playing volleyball and soccer. Volley Ball is the girls sport and soccer is the guys sport. This little girl around 11 or 12 was playing patty cake with me. God was telling me that these things is what brings him glory. I love this place it is so much fun to hang out with the kids and talk to them even though there is a language barrier. I tell all the girls that they are beautiful and they just smile and say thank you. We went to the "Walmart" in Peru. Everyone was staring at me because I was white and so tall. We bought sublime and inca cola.

Traveling day
The flight was 6 hours and 14 minutes long. I am looking forward to getting there in Peru. I can't wait to see all the little children. I am praying for many amazing things to occur, and many souls save.

We had chicken and pasta for dinner on the plane. To be honest the food was not that bad concerning it was plane food, I am getting ready to eat a poptart because the food did not fill me up.

Peru Mission Journal (6-11-12)

We are leaving on the 15th! So close! Please pray for safe travels and good health. But more importantly, I ask that we pray for the people of Peru, to prepare their hearts. We pray as a team we can reach souls to the Glory of God!

I will be journaling the whole week about what we are doing on the trip. Hopefully I will have many pictures to share with you all. I will be typing most of my journal and posting them by day.

This will be my last blog, before I get back from the trip. Thanks for the many prayers! If you would like to send me a personal word of encouragement please email me ( JonathanSpencerAdams@gmail.com ).
